Project Overview

Coto, a pioneering social media and community platform for women, was facing lower user engagement than usual despite distributing tokens to its members. To address this, the consultant, through the company he worked with, developed a customized e-commerce platform that allowed users to redeem their tokens for merchandise within the app. This innovative solution created a seamless user experience and boosted engagement, addressing the platform’s challenge and enhancing overall user interaction.

Client Background

Coto is a large, trailblazing company that launched one of the world’s first women-only social media and community platforms. Built on Web3 technology, Coto distributed tokens to its users but didn’t offer multiple ways to redeem them.

Challenges

Coto struggled with low user engagement and lacked a way for users to redeem their accumulated tokens. The platform needed a solution to increase interaction, giving users a reason to stay engaged and invested in the community.

The Approach

The solution focused on creating a custom-built e-commerce platform that enabled users to redeem tokens for merchandise, increasing platform engagement.

The key components included

E-Commerce Platform Development
A separate e-commerce platform was developed to allow users to purchase branded merchandise using Coto’s tokens, cash, or a combination of both. This gave users an engaging and meaningful way to redeem their tokens.

Integration with Coto App
To ensure security and exclusivity, the e-commerce platform was accessible only from within the Coto app after proper authentication. This integration helped maintain a seamless user experience while ensuring token utilization was exclusive to Coto’s community.

End-to-End Solution for Token Utilization
We offered a complete strategy and solution that enabled token redemption and motivated users to stay engaged with the app through regular interactions and access to exclusive merchandise.

Results

The launch of the e-commerce platform generated significant interest:

Many users immediately engaged with the platform, redeeming their tokens to order merchandise, leading to increased user interaction.

Coto successfully enhanced its user engagement, solving the initial challenge and satisfying all stakeholders.

The introduction of this token utilization system gave the platform a tangible reason for users to continue participating in the community.

Conclusion

By developing and implementing an e-commerce platform that allowed Coto’s users to redeem their tokens for merchandise, we helped boost engagement and addressed the core challenge. The seamless integration and token strategy provided a unique, interactive experience that benefited both the users and the platform.
